Lou Ella Vaughan Strutton

Lou Ella Vaughan Strutton, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, April 18th, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Fair Funeral Home.

Born September 23, 1933 in Northampton County, NC, Lou was the daughter of the late James Russell Vaughan and Emma Alice Hancock Vaughan.  She was a member of North Spray Christian Church and was a Registered Nurse at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. 

She is survived by her husband, Barney Ray Strutton of the home; son, Ray Strutton and wife, Laurie of Rocky Mount, NC; daughter, Joni Davis and husband, Butch of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Aaron Davis, Brynn Pecher, Russell Strutton and Daniel Strutton; four great-grandchildren, Hayden Strutton, Wyatt Strutton, Kash Pecher and Saylor Davis; brother, Jimmy Vaughan of Elizabeth City, NC; and sister, Joyce Burroughs, Wendell, NC.
