Loraine Olive Scholle Buckner

Loraine Olive Scholle Buckner, 93, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 24th, 2020, at UNC Rockingham Health Care in Eden. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 2, at Lawson Cemetery.  The service will be live streamed on the Fair Funeral Home Facebook page, for those that may not be able to attend.

Loraine was born November 20th, 1927 in Chicago, IL., to the late Erna and August Scholle.  She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a special love for her grand dogs.  Loraine loved her family and friends unconditionally.  She loved all children as shown by her years of volunteering at many Rockingham County School and church activities. She participated in Silver Sneakers and Senior Olympics, enjoyed playing cards & other activities at Garden of Eden Senior Center and Eden YMCA. She loved traveling to any location and felt blessed for all the places she visited.

She is survived by 5 children, Rodney Buckner (Terrie) of Rocky Mount, NC, Kevin Buckner (Susan) of Belews Creek, NC, Tamara Schaefer (Craig) of Gresham, OR, Kathy Durham (Jeff) of Summerfield, NC, and Beverly Conner (Joey) of Stoneville, NC; grandchildren, Baeden Buckner (Katie) of Greensboro, NC, Ashley Hilton (Brian) of Eden, NC, Breck Hayes (Vaun) of Raleigh, NC, Blair Vigeland (Ben) of Bend, OR, Lindsey Cianni (Phillip) of Camas, WA, Bryce Durham of Reidsville, NC, and Evan Durham of Greensboro, NC; five great grandchildren. 

Preceding Loraine in death was her husband, John B. Buckner, Jr.; brother Thomas and sisters Pearl, Louise, Erna, and Jean.
