Lonnie Silvers

Lonnie Silvers age 83 of 716 Summit Rd, Eden, passed away Friday March 13, 2015 at Eden Brian Center Health and Rehab. The funeral service will be held Tuesday March 17, 4pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Silvers was born November 16, 1931 in Yancey County, NC to the late Tom and Zora Higgins Silvers. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved hunting, fishing and was an avid wood worker. While wood working he made many musical instruments and gun stocks. He was the owner and operator of Lonnie Silvers Contractor Co.. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife Jacqueline Bailey Silvers of the home, three sons, Billy Silvers, Raymond Silvers and Ronald Silvers all of Eden, two brothers, Earl Silvers and wife Shirley of Burnsville, NC, Andrew Silvers and wife Anna Lou also of Burnsville, NC, one sister Virlin Tipton of Johnson City, TN, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son Donald Lee Silvers, daughter Rebecca Silvers Kennon, four brothers and six sisters.
