Lloyd Wayne Saunders, Sr.

Lloyd Wayne Saunders, Sr., age 83 of Reidsville, NC passed away Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at his home.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 2 pm, at Spray Baptist Church in Eden, NC, with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery, also in Eden. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 pm until 7 pm at Fair Funeral Home.

Lloyd was born August 18th, 1939 to the late Jesse William “Bud” Saunders and Zora Dill Saunders in Rockingham County, NC. Lloyd worked for Fieldcrest Mills as a Machinist and also as a custodian for Spray Baptist Church for nearly 40 years where he was a life-time member.

Surviving Mr. Saunders are his children, Michelle Saunders of the home, Lloyd Wayne Saunders, Jr. and wife Shirley of Nampa, ID, Tammy Vernon of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Charles “Mickey” Saunders and wife Susan of Eden, NC; grandchildren, Deven Jackson and wife Jennifer, McKenzie Barrett and husband Fisher, Chelsea Vernon, Nikki Fuller and husband Murphy, Jake Jackson and wife Brianne, Clint Jackson; great-grandchildren, Logan Jackson, Owen Shelton, Branden Jackson and Katy Jackson; as well as his special companion Dog Maggie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death, along with his parents, are his wife, Mary Anne Cox Saunders, and two brothers, Duncan and Bill Saunders.
