Lisa Eaton Rorrer, born on November 20, 1967 in Plattsburgh, New York, passed away peacefully at home on September 27 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, whose warm spirit and kindness touched all who knew her.
Lisa's educational journey began with her graduation from Morehead High School. She later attended Rockingham Community College before receiving her accounting degree from Greensboro College. This strong foundation allowed her to thrive in her career, where she worked with Edwinia Webster, CPA, and later with Kimberly Brown and Associates. Her clients truly enjoyed working with her, a testament to her dedication and professionalism.
Beyond her career, Lisa actively participated in her community and church. She was an integral part of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Eden, where she served as treasurer for many years. Lisa cherished the opportunity to contribute to the church, and she always found joy in decorating and cooking for her family and church events. She was active in the Morehead Band Boosters as treasurer and event planner.
Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, Bunyan William Rorrer, and their children, Marisa Josephine Rorrer, Joshua Thomas Rorrer, and Jarrod Scott Rorrer. She is also survived by her brothers, Van Eaton (Penny) and John Eaton, her nephew, Alan Eaton, her niece, Jennifer Anderson (Andy), as well as her in-laws, Robert and Carol Rorrer, and sister-in-law Julie Rorrer.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Eaton and Elaine Scott Eaton, who shaped her into the remarkable person she became.
Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. A funeral service to celebrate Lisa's life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, located at 600 Morgan Rd, Eden, NC, beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 5-7PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
