Linda Meeks

Linda Grant Meeks, 74, passed away Monday morning, May 4, 2020, at UNC-Rockingham Rehabilitation & Nursing Care Center in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 7, at Overlook Cemetery.  Mrs. Meeks will lie-in-state at Fair Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning for anyone wanting to come by to pay their respects.  The service will be live streamed on the Facebook page of Fair Funeral Home for those unable to attend due to the restrictions that have been imposed.

Linda was born February 25, 1946 in Leaksville, NC (now Eden) to the late Coy Dennis Grant, Sr. and Margaret Smith Grant.  She was a graduate of Morehead High School, Class of 1964 and was a retired Teacher’s Assistant at Leaksville-Spray Elementary School.  Linda was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin Meeks of the home; daughter, Melissa Meeks Gatewood and husband, Rodney of Eden; granddaughter, Tiffany Gatewood of Eden; and son-in-law, Tommy Curry of Stoneville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melia Meeks Curry and her two brothers, Jimmy Grant and C. D. Grant, Jr.
