Linda Diane Compton Burrow

Linda Diane Compton Burrow, 76, of Eden, passed early Sunday morning, October 22, 2023, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 4pm Sunday, October 29, 2023 at First Wesleyan Church of Eden, 607 Church St, Eden, NC. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 3pm-4pm, at First Wesleyan Church of Eden. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at the home of her daughter Dawn Jones, 417 Palmer Court, Eden, NC.
Linda was born February 13, 1947, in Rockingham County to the late Raymond Compton and Annette Andrews Compton. She was a graduate of Reidsville High School, class of 1965. Linda was most recently affiliated with First Wesleyan Church of Eden. She worked in student health services as the immunization coordinator for University of North Carolina – Greensboro until her retirement.
Linda spent time in her early years teaching dance. She loved Elvis music. When her girls were young, Linda volunteered her time at Central Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and shopping for her grandkids. Linda was a college sports fan and loved watching Tarheel sports and Appalachian State football. Prior to her declining health, she loved and looked forward to attending church. Above all, Linda enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and family.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dawn Jones and husband Eddie Jones of Eden, Valerie Pyrtle and husband Reece Pyrtle of Stoneville; three grandchildren, Caroline Jones Harris and husband Jacob, Bennett Jones, and Ainsley Pyrtle; caregiver and special friend, Rogers McFadden of Eden.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Compton Boardwine.
