Lilly Stanford Price, 88, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 26, 2019, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 28, at Stoneville Municipal Cemetery with Chaplain and nephew, Kenny Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at the home of her daughter at 3606 Crosstimbers Drive in Greensboro.
Mrs. Price was born February 1, 1931 in Stoneville, NC, to the late Aubrey H. Stanford, Sr. and Sarah Pearce Stanford. She was a graduate of Stoneville High School, Class of 1949 and was a former bookkeeper for Stoneville Furniture Company. She later worked for 20 years as a greeter at Walmart. Lilly loved spending time with her family, doing crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, reading, and cooking. She was famous for her delicious pound cakes.
She is survived by her daughter, Deann Duncan (Bob) of Greensboro; two sons, Leslie F. Price III (Linda) of Randleman and Mark S. Price (Kim) of High Point; grandchildren, Kayla Benton (Erik) of Portland, Oregon, Robert Tyler Duncan (Constance) of Italy, and Kari Duncan of Greensboro; four great-grandchildren, Maeby Price and Earl Dean Benton, both of Oregon, Elizabeth and Sebastian Duncan, both of Italy; step-grandchildren, Michael Compton and Michelle McClain; sister, Sarah S. Jenkins of Greenville, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her furry companion, Scooter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Frank Price; and two brothers, Aubrey H. Stanford, Jr. and Allen Dean Stanford.
