Lillie Owens Gammons

June 24, 1930 — December 1, 2013

Lillie Owens Gammons, 83, formerly of 514 Garrett Road in Eden, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 4, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gammons was born June 24, 1930 in Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Alvis Pinkney Owens and Vina Deaton Owens. Mrs. Gammons was a former employee of Fieldcrest Mills, later a security guard with T & J Security, and lastly worked in the housekeeping department of Morehead Hospital.

She is survived by her four sons, James Delorma Webb of Kansas, Terry Lynn Webb, Sr. and wife, Donna of Eden, Ronald Lee Mundy, Sr., and John Thomas Mundy, all of Eden; daughter, Paula Coleman Jacobus and husband, Mark of Eden; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Owens of Kansas;

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Gammons; brother, Paul Owens; and sisters, Mary, Nancy May, Lucy Elizabeth, and Rhoda Jane Owens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her son, John, 514 Garrett Road.
