Lillie Payne Wray Hewitt, 87 of Mayodan, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at North Pointe of Mayodan.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, April 3, 2026, at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden.

Lillie was born April 4, 1938, to the late Fred Wray and Frances Gibson Wray. She worked in the office at Fieldcrest until her retirement. Lille also owned two trailer parks for more than 20 years. She was known to have the “gift of gab”. Mostly, Lillie loved spending time with family.

Surviving are her brother, Willie Wray; nieces, Paula Hines, Connie Shoemaker, Linda Wray, Regina Cardwell; nephews, Ronnie Wray and Larry Wray.

In addition to her parents, Lillie is preceded in death by her son, Phillip “Wayne” Hewitt; brothers, Joe Wray and Raymond Wray; nephews, Sam Wray, Mack Wray, and Donald Wray.
