Leroy "Ric" Orrell, Iii

Leroy “Ric” Orrell, III, 76, passed to His Heavenly home on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Hospice Gibson House in Wentworth, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Osborne Baptist Church in Eden, NC. Military Honors, performed by Rockingham County Veteran’s Honor Guard, will follow the service. A visitation will be held at Osborne Baptist Church following the Military Honors on Wednesday.

Ric was born on October 11, 1946 in Eden, NC, to the late Leroy Orrell, Jr. and Mary Gilbert Orrell. Ric graduated from Morehead High School in 1965. He served his country in the Navy Seabees from 1966 to 1968. He spent most of this time serving in Vietnam. Ric was manager of Builders Mart, Inc. on Bridge St in Eden for 17 years. He then went to work for Rockingham County Environmental Engineering Department where he retired in 2008.

Ric was a member of Tri-County Senior Men’s Golf League where he enjoyed fellowship and fun with men who became like brothers to him. Ric enjoyed spending his time in a boat with a fishing pole in his hand.

Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Judy. Their marriage of 53 years was strong and filled with God’s love and blessings.
In addition to his parents, Ric is preceded in death by his loving Yorkie son, Lee.

In lieu of flowers or food, memorial contributions may be made to Osborne Baptist Church Building Fund.
