Laverne Wilmoth Griffin

LaVerne Wilmoth Griffin, age 87 of Reidsville, NC passed away Thursday evening October 12, 2023 at Brookdale of Reidsville.

A funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday October 19th at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Reidsville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday the 19th from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Griffin was born December 18, 1935 to the late Willie Wilmoth and Ozella Adkins Wilmoth in Leaksville, NC. She was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed being a part of Red Hat Society. She worked at the Fieldcrest Store in Eden, NC where she was a store clerk.

Surviving her are her son Derrell Griffin and wife Polly of Trinity, NC, daughter Denise Griffin of Smithfield, NC, brother Sam Wilmoth and wife Donna of Reidsville, NC, grandchildren; Graham Westfield-Briggs and husband Kevin of Durham, NC and Rachel Briggs of Wilmington, NC, two nephews and one niece.

Preceding in death along with her parents are husband of 43 years, Bobby Ray Griffin, and brother, Marvin Elwood Wilmoth.
