Laura Opalene Belton, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Hospice of Rockingham Co. (Gibson House) in Wentworth.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, July 12th at 11:00am in the Dan View Cemetery, Eden, NC. Visitation will be held at Fair Funeral Home one hour prior (9:45am to 10:45am) before proceeding to the Graveside Service.
Opalene was born on February 9, 1927 in Roanoke, VA to the late Jack Agee and Sadie Compton Agee. She formerly worked as a Security Guard for Fieldcrest Mills but most of her life she was a Homemaker. She loved visiting her family.
Ms. Belton is survived by her four children; Larry Belton (Mildred) of Eden, Carolyn Land (Ray) of Oak Island, NC, Tammy Fain (Albert) of Stoneville and Brenda Taylor of Eden; five grand children and four great-grand children. She is also survived by five siblings and a sister-in-law, Shirley Carter
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Franklin Belton.
