Larry William Roop

Larry William Roop, 67, of 317 Stratford Road in Eden, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 25, 2014, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 29, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Reverend Johnny Cox officiating.

Mr. Roop was born November 2, 1947 in Leaksville, NC, to the late Howard William and Violet Wheatley Roop. He was a former participant of the Job Corp where he learned to operate heavy equipment. Larry was a retiree of the NC Department of Transportation after 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Lillard Roop, of the home; two sons, Glenn Roop and Alan Roop, both of Eden; daughter Erin Roop, also of Eden; two grandchildren; sisters, Valerie Lovings and husband, Charles, of Reidsville and Ann McKenney and husband, Tommy, of Caswell County; brother, Clinton Moore of Reidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
