Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Murphy, Sr.

Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Murphy, Sr. age 56 of 553 Morgan Road, Eden passed away at his home on Friday, May 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. Kenny was born on June 8, 1954 in Leaksville, NC ( now Eden) ,son of the late Wallace Murphy and Naomi Murphy Wade. He retired from American Tobacco Company. Surviving Kenny , his wife; Jo Dell Murphy, son; Kenneth Ray Murphy, Jr., step-daughter; Jennifer Hopper, sister; Kim Thompson and husband Gary, grandchildren; Madison and Carley Reynolds all of Eden. The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Karb and his staff at Smith McMichael Cancer Center. A special thanks to Hospice of Rockingham County and staff with a special thanks to his nurse, Misty Richardson for her care.
