Kenneth "Ronnie" Jones

Kenneth “Ronnie” Jones passed away Thursday, July 16th at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville. He was 74 years old.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 21st in the Fair Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am. A burial will immediately follow the service on Tuesday in the Overlook Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 20th from 5:00-7:00pm also at Fair Funeral Home in Eden, NC

Ronnie was born July 6, 1952 to Hugh Jones and Maxine Martin Jones in Rockingham County. 

Ronnie was a very caring person. He would think of the other person, if they had a need before he thought of himself. His main goal was to tell others about his Savior, Jesus Christ. At one time he had a Gospel Tract Ministry. He really felt the need to try to win lost souls to Christ. He was the type of person to stop and help strangers if their car was broken down or if they had a flat tire on the side of the road. Sometimes he would bring homeless people into his own home to feed them a hot meal. In the past years he sang and played the bass guitar with the Dixon Family Gospel Singers. He also attended Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Eden, for many years, where he also played the bass guitar. He loved Jesus and wanted to serve Him. Ronnie also dearly loved his wife, family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving is his loving wife, Janet, of 54 years; son, Kevin Jones, daughter Lori J. Mabe; granddaughter’s, Kyra Jones and Kloe Jones; and great granddaughter Kamila Price; sisters in law, Betty Hollifield, Gloria Gauldin (Walter), Shirley Morris, Kathy Wyatt, and Iris Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
