Kathryn Franklin

Kathyrn Franklin, 83, formerly of Friendly Road in Eden, passed away early Thursday morning, March 16, 2017, at Bradford Village West in Kernersville.  

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 18,  at Overlook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the home of Kat Hodges, 809 Warren Avenue in Eden.

Mrs. Franklin was born September 21, 1933 in Cement, OK, to the late Jesse Arthur Simpson and Bessie Eanes Simpson.  She was a graduate of Leaksville High School, Class of 1952 and a member of Kings Highway Christian Church.  She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills, Karastan Division.

She is survived by her son, James T. "Jim T" Franklin, Jr. (Susan) of Kernersville;  grandson, Bob Roark;  granddaughter, Katherine Roark;  and three great-granddaughters, Alex, Alina, and Alissa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Meeks and brothers, Bobby and Bill Simpson.
