Kathleen Edmonds Turner Roland, 87, passed away Wednesday evening, June 18, 2012 at Brian Center in Eden.
In an effort to assist the medical community in their quest to further research in many aread, she chose to donate her body for scientific and educational purposes, to Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. There will be no service.
Kathleen was born May 9, 1925 in Rockingham County, daughter of the late, Samuel Grief Turner and Ruth Estelle Mitchell Turner. She was retired from Spray Baptist Church as church secretary.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan McKean of Richmond, VA; son, Kim Roland of Eden; three grandchildren, Brian Roland and wife, Erin of Eden, Heather Cohn and husband, Stefan of Richmond, VA, and Lauren Grace Nichols of Eden; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Michael Cohn, Gabriella Cassels Cohn, Brody Addison Cohn and Kathleen Isbell Roland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Star Roland Nichols.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eden Rescue Squad, 106 Mable Street, Eden, NC 27288.
