Kathleen "Kat" Spangler Hodges

Kathleen “Kat” Spangler Hodges, 91, passed away Tuesday morning, March 2, 2021, at Bayberry Retirement Inn in Eden.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, March 5, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery.  The service will be live-streamed on Facebook for those that are unable to attend.  She will lie in repose on Thursday from 12 Noon to 6 pm at Fair Funeral Home.  The family will gather at the home of her daughter, Cathy Hodges Cayton, 1306 Delaware Avenue in Eden.

Born July 29, 1929, Kat was the daughter of the late Noah Spangler and Mary Dixon Spangler.  She was a hairdresser for 60+ years.  Kat was a member of Spray Baptist Church and was a member of Widow’s for Christ.  She enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by her three children, Wayne Hodges, Jr. and wife, Teresa, Cathy Hodges Cayton and husband, Melvin and Susan Franklin and husband, Jim T.; six grandchildren, Stephanie Hodges, Michael Hodges, David Thill, Jr. (Jennifer), Devita Rakes (Dean), Bob Roark and Katherine Roark; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ann Seal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wayne Hodges, Sr.
