Karl Douglas Martin

Karl Douglas Martin, 90, of 1464 Virginia Street, Eden passed away on Saturday afternoon at his home. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Garden, Reidsville. Mr. Martin was born March 31,1921 in Rockingham Co. to the late Nick and Rosa DeHart Martin. Karl was retired from John Smith and Sons as a construction foreman, and a member of Riverview Presbyterian Church. He was a WWII Army veteran serving with the Fighting 69th Infantry Division, Company B 272. Karl is survived by his wife; Fleta May Hunter Martin of the home, sons; Stephen E. Martin of Lugoff, S.C., Nick W. Martin and wife Kimberly of Eden, sister; Joyce Land of Eden; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Karl was preceded in death by his son Michael D. Martin, brother; Roy J. Martin, sisters; Evelyn Pulliam, June Kendrick, Maxine Jones. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 7 until 9 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
