Judy Joyce Hensley Fulp, 73, of Stoneville, passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home, following a lengthy illness, on Thursday afternoon, September 29, 2016, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 2, at Fulp Family Cemetery on Fulp Sawmill Road in Stoneville. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home, 275 Fulp Sawmill Road, Stoneville.
Judy was born in Spencer, VA on June 4, 1943 to the late Harvey Hensley and Ruth Hensley. She retired from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Departments after 25 years of service. Judy always enjoyed her work at the department and had many friends there. Her special interests were country music and playing bingo. Judy will be remembered by her family and friends as a strong fighter, not willing to give in to many everyday health problems. She was loved dearly and will be surely missed.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, William "Roger" Fulp, of the home; two daughters, Sherry Higgs of Eden and Terry Chrisly of Richmond, VA; two granddaughters; one grandson; and two step-sons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Annie Penn Hospital for their care during her last days and to a number of special friends and family.
