Judith Matherly Griffin

Judith Matherly Griffin, 81, of Eden passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Monday, December 12, 2022 at Dan View Cemetery in Eden. The family will receive friends at other times at the home, 1911 Stadium Dr., Eden, NC.

Judith was born April 21, 1941 in Draper, NC, to the late Rufus H. Matherly and Bessie Fuqua Matherly. She was a member of Fieldcrest Road Church of God in Draper. Judith worked at Creighton Industries in Reidsville as a seamstress until her retirement after 32 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roger “Dale” Griffin, Sr.; children, Daphne Griffin of Eden, Roger D. Griffin, Jr. (Janet) of Eden; grandchildren, Joshua Griffin, Ashley Curry; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Murphy of Eden, Doris Hall of Stokesdale; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Judith is preceded in death by sisters, Frances Rankin, Louise Meade, Lois Barker; brother, Douglas Matherly.
