Joy Moretz Rogers

Joy Moretz Rogers, 83, formerly of 1723 Delaware Avenue in Eden, passed away early Sunday morning, May 11, 2014, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 14, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery.

Mrs. Rogers was born October 1, 1930 in Rockingham County, NC, daughter of the late Eugene and Jessie Mae Moretz. She was a retiree of DuPont in Martinsville, VA and had also worked at Brian Center of Eden as a nursing assistant.

She is survived by her three sons, Emmett Bryon Rogers of Reidsville, David Clinton Rogers of Hillsbrough, NJ, and James Emmett Rogers, Sr. of Collinsville, VA; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Matt, Kara, Megann, Joni, and Jay Rogers; sisters, Jewel Helms of Rock Hill, SC and Irene Meeks of Eden; and brother, Chris Moretz of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Clinton Rogers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 7 - 9 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
