Joshua “Josh” Grant Rice, 28 of Eden went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2020.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, November 13, at Osborne Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from ***12 Noon to 2 PM*** at the church and other times at his home, 1215 Ridge Avenue in Eden. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Face masks ARE REQUIRED to enter the church.
Josh was born July 16, 1992 in Reidsville NC, the son of Chris and Angie Rice. He graduated from Morehead High School in 2010, where he was a MHS Varsity Baseball Player for four years. He was a member of Osborne Baptist Church where he was a previous drummer on the worship team. Josh was an accomplished musician who had a passion for writing and singing music. He was artistic in every way. Josh was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan. He was a Brown Belt at CCC (Team Roc) with Brent Pierce and was currently employed at Triple N Lumber Co in Eden NC.
Josh is survived by his 8 year old son Noah Grant Rice of the home, his parents Chris and Angie Rice of the home, his brothers Christopher Joel Rice (Brooke) his nieces Allyssa, Sydney and Olivia, also of Eden, Victor Valdez (Tegan) nephews Elias, Kobe and niece Ema from Greensboro. He also leaves behind his beloved grandparents, Janice Bouldin of Eden NC, Martha Mills (Norman) of Stuart VA and Doug Rice (Angela) of Mississippi. He also leaves behind his beloved great-grandmother Naomi Greene of Kentucky. He is also survived by his uncles Al Bouldin, Jeff Cox, Michael Moretz (Lisa), Ken Rice (Amanda) Kevin Rice (Janis), and Coy Rice (Kenya). He is also leaves behind his aunts Lisa Price (Jeff), Sonya Vernon (Jerry), Tanya Smith (Ken) and LeAnne Wolfe. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Savannah Troxler and his best friends, Justin Berlin and Sgt. Michael "Slick" Chambers, US Army. He also leaves behind the mother of his son Kendra Price and numerous cousins and great friends that were more like family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Bouldin and paternal grandmother, Eunice Thurman Rice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fair Funeral Home, PO Box 337, Eden, NC 27289, to assist with cost of services.
