Josephine Bondurant Carter

Josephine Bondurant Carter, 91, of 2840 Price Grange Road in Eden, passed away Sunday evening, July 21, 2013, at The Penn Nursing Center in Reidsville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 24, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Carter was born November 10, 1921 in Rockingham County, daughter of the late Tyler and Nannie Dix Bondurant. She was a graduate of Tri-City High School and a retiree of Fireldcrest Mills. Mrs. Carter, through the years, has attended Whites Chapel Baptist Church and Pleasant View Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Carter of the home and Jo Anne Dunlap and husband, Harold; two granddaughters, Tamara Schlegel and Taylor "Logan" Carter; two great-grandsons, Chase and Devin "Doodle" Schlegel; special nephew, James Carter and wife, Shelby; and half-uncle, Gaylord Dix and wife, Peggy, all of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Carter.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Penn Nursing Center, especially Trisha and Ashley, for all their care and support.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 7 - 9 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
