Josephine Adkins Dix

Josephine Adkins Dix, 85, of 812 Stuart Street, passed away early Monday morning, February 15, 2010 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday, February 17, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Overlook Mausoleum. Mrs. Dix was born April 11, 1924 in Ferrum, VA, daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Ray Adkins. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and was retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Surviving is her son, Richard Dix and wife, Dianne of High Point; grandson, Chris Dix and wife, Amy of Eden; grandson, Danny Dix of Eden; and granddaughter, Kellye Dix of Eden; four other grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Lauretta Dix of Eden. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond Dix; son, Franklin Dix; and one grandchild, Emmanuel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6-8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence on Stuart Street.
