Jonathan "Daniel" Morris (43) of Eden, NC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20th. He passed away at Moses Cone hospital in Greensboro, NC.
Daniel had a passion for music, learning, and praising God. He was an incredible piano player, with the talent of being able to play by ear. He was also a singer/songwriter and worked as a Worship Leader at several churches over the years. Daniel was born again Christian. He loved creating music and using his voice to rejoice for the Lord. Daniel was a knowledge seeker and chose to expand his learning by gaining a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University. He loved to laugh, dance, and have fun with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking and baking. In Daniel’s younger years, his mother would bring him by Fair’s where he loved visiting the staff and especially loved playing the piano.
Daniel was born on February 15th, 1980. Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Shirley Morris; his brothers Billy Morris (Judy), Bobby Morris (Kay), Steve Morris (Tish), Nathan Morris (Britteny); his nieces Kristen Spell (Billy), Kelly Roberts (TJ), Kasie Morris (Tyler), Sarah Morris, Kristin Colley; his nephews Cody Morris, Cole Colley; his grand-nieces Woodlin Roberts, Paisley Morris; his grand-nephews Bentley Morris, Thomas Roberts, Mason Morris, and Milo Frazier. Also, his cousins Amy Soyars, Sandy Carter, Rebecca Priddy, Debbie Gordon, Dale Dixon, Mike Dixon, John Dixon, Lori Mabe, Kevin Jones, Joel Gauldin, and Karen Baynes; special aunts, Gloria Gauldin, Kathy Wyatt, Janet Jones, Iris Dixon; special uncles, Walter Gauldin, Ronnie Jones.
Daniel is preceded in death by his father Charles Morris, grandfather Isaac Dixon, grandmother Carrie Dixon (whom he loved dearly), grandmother Claudine Chodnicki, grandfather Johnny Morris, grandmother Mabel Morris, and special uncle Wayne Wyatt, James Dixon.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday January 28th at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with the visitation to be held on Saturday from 4 - 6 pm at Fair Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to visit the family at the home of Kathy Wyatt (Daniel’s aunt) at 132 Dixon Road in Eden at other times. A burial will be held at Noon on Monday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
