John "Ray" Robertson

John "Ray" Robertson, 82, of 127 S. Oakland Avenue, passed away Friday morning, September 17, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held 3 pm Monday September 20th at Osborne Baptist Church A native of Rockingham County, Mr. Robertson was born November 27, 1927, son of the late John Sullivan and Cornelia Pulliam Robertson. He was a US Air Force veteran and a member of Osborne Baptist Church. Mr. Robertson retired from Guilford Mills as a long distance truck driver. Surviving is his wife, Juanita Rakestraw Robertson of the home; daughters, Jean R. Slaughter, Joyce R. Campbell and husband, Roy, Frances DeHart and husband, James, and Dale R. Smith and husband, Jeff, all of Eden; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Annette Lester, Evelyn Chatman, Anyon Hodges, Doris Lee, and Mildred McKinney; and brothers, Dillard and Jim Robertson.
