John Kennon

John Jerry Kennon, age 66 of Eden, NC passed away early Sunday morning October 1, 2023 at Annie Penn Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 5th at 3 pm at True Hope Church, 193 Lakewood Road, Eden.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 -7 pm at Fair Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dan View Cemetery with Military Honors by the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard.

John was born May 8, 1957 in Rockingham County to the late Onist and Lois Weadon Kennon.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed working on motorcycles and drag racing especially at Piedmont Drag Strip. He was retired from Mabe’s Trucking Company as a diesel mechanic.
He is survived by son, Joshua Kennon of Ringgold, Va. and stepson, Jason Conner also of Ringgold, Va., stepson, Malcolm Pascal of Georgia; stepdaughters, Lisa Aaron of Greensboro and Jackie Pascal of Georgia; sisters, Marsha Kennon Thacker and Mary Kennon Beckner of Eden, sister, Sheila Kennon of Marietta, Ga.

Family will be meeting at other times at the home, 1216 Front Street, Eden, NC.
