John Dillard Gauldin

John Dillard Gauldin, age 81 of Martinsville, VA passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville, VA and Henry County. The funeral service will be held Thursday 19th, 2pm at Stone Memorial Christian Church in Collinsville, VA with burial to follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 984 Eden Rd in Stoneville, NC.

Mr. Gauldin was born June 8, 1933 in Draper, NC to the late John and Estelle Gauldin. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a boatswain's Mate. Mr. Gauldin took HVAC courses at Danville Community College and worked in this field, as well as working as a pipefitter for major companies such as DuPont. He later suffered injuries from a fire causing him to become disabled. He loved watching and talking about sports, and was a good Christian man. He truly loved the Lord and was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Maria Gauldin of the home, two sons John "Danny" Gauldin and Todd Gauldin, a daughter "Lindy" Gauldin, sister Inez Hodges, seven children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren from previous marriages. Preceding him in death along with his parents is his brother Alvin Gauldin.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening 6 until 8 at Fair Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Contributions can be made to Stone Memorial Christian Church: 3030 Virginia Ave, Collinsville, VA 24078.
