Joey Wayne Alverson

Joey Wayne Alverson, 54, of Eden, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow the service at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, from 1pm-2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at other times at 196 Meadowood Rd, Eden, NC 27288.

Joey was born June 13, 1968, in Rockingham County, NC, to Paul Samuel Alverson and Norma Meadows Alverson. He worked at Western Carolina as a forklift mechanic for many years.

Joey is survived by his son, Tyler Wayne Alverson; mother, Norma Jean Meadows Alverson; brothers, Michael Todd Alverson, Bobby Dement and fiancé, Amy Trodgon; former spouse, Kim Penell; aunts, Connie Barnes, Shirley Johnson, Honey Rierson, Hazel Eggleston; uncle, Bill Meadows; nieces, Brittany Dement, Caitlin Rierson.

He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Samuel Alverson; grandparents, Elijah Meadows, Lula Meadows, Pauline Rogers.
