Joel Henry Carter

Joel Henry Carter, 73, of 511 Armfield Street in Eden, passed away Thursday morning, December 19, 2019, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 23, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home.

A Rockingham County, NC native, Mr. Carter was born August 6, 1946 to the late Bosen Henry Carter and Lucy Virginia Walker Carter.  He was a member of Summit Road Church of God and was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Pulliam Carter, of the home;  two daughters, Angela Sprague (Vincent) and Melissa Carter Wilhelm, both of Eden;  four grandchildren, Joseph Morgan, Austin Wilson, Sean Hunter Wilhelm, and Lauren Wilhelm;  and three great-grandchildren, MaKinzley, Jonah, and Alayna. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Carter and Donnie Ray Carter;  and sister, Virginia Tulbert.
