Joan Tate Wade

March 3, 1938 — October 1, 2017

Joan Tate Wade, 79, formerly of Eden, passed away Sunday night, October 1, 2017, at Jacob's Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 5th, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Betty Peoples, 936 Haled Street in Eden.

Joan was born March 3, 1938 in Rockingham County, NC  to the late James T. Tate and Fannie Cannon Tate.  She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a retiree of Unifi.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Peoples (Darrin) and Judy Ingle, both of Eden;  two grandchildren, Brad Adkins (Sandi) and Josh Adkins (Heather);  four great-grandchildren; sister, Robin Thacker (Mike) of Ruffin;  and sister-in-law, Marie Tate.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Adkins and two brothers, Elwood Tate and Charlie Tate.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Jacob's Creek Nursing and Rehab Center, especially Heather Stanley and Brandy Harrison, for all their loving care and support.
