Joan Marilyn Martin Richards

Joan Marilyn Martin Richards, 78, passed away Friday, August 11th at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 15th at 2:00pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at the Mountain View Cemetery.
Joan was born April 9, 1945 to the late Dewey Martin, Sr. and Margaret Lawrence Martin.  She worked at Bassett Walker, Textiles as a Folder.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jeffrey Lynn Richards; sons Lynn Richards (Laurie) of Moore, SC, Chris Richards (Nicole) of Madison, NC; daughter, Ivy Jean O’Leary (Tim) of Eden, NC; brother, David Martin of Stoneville, NC; two sisters, Nancy Taylor of Spencer, VA., Jeanette Tapper of Eden, NC; grandchildren, Chelsea Evans, Elton Evans,  Joshua Smith (Rachel), Kayla Richards, Jonathan Richards (Angelica), Carly Richards; great- grandchildren, Nolan Smith, Charlotte Richards, Grace Smith; several nieces and nephews; special friend, James Whitt; special furry pets, Nina and Farrah.

Along with her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her brothers, Dewey Martin, Jr., George Martin, Carrol Martin.
