Joan Lee Whitley Southard

Joan Lee Wheatley Southard, 67, of 405 Monroe Street in Eden, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 2, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Southard was born January 10, 1946 in Eden, NC. She attended Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Billy Southard and wife, Jennifer of Ruffin; daughter, Angela Kirkman and husband, Donnie of Eden; five grandchildren, Ian Ethan and Avery Kirkman and Daniel and Ryan Southard; mother, Arlene Purdy Wheatley of Eden; three brothers, Mike and Roger Wheatley of Eden and Sammy Wheatley of Reidsville; two sisters, Carolyn Pruitt and husband, Carlton of Elon and Lera May Harris of Eden.

She was preceded in death by her father, C. M. Wheatley.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday (1 - 2 pm) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of the son, 2699 Guerrant Springs Road in Ruffin.
