Joan Holt Shropshire

Joan Lee Holt Shropshire, 79,  passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 19, 2018, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 22, at Danview Cemetery on South Fieldcrest Road in Eden.  The family will gather immediately following the service at the Morehead-Fair House for refreshments and fellowship. 

Mrs. Shropshire was born August 30, 1939 in Leaksville, NC, to the late Lonnie Lawrence Holt and Ruby Lee Carter Holt.  She first worked for Spray Cotton Mill and later,  for JP Stevens and Montgomery Ward.

She is survived by her son, Charles Shropshire and fiancee', Melissa Smith, of Climax, NC and her brother, Melvin Holt of SC.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Duke Shropshire and sister, Rinda Wells.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice in memory of Joan.
