Jimmy Leon Phillips

Jimmy Leon Phillips, 89 of Danville, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at Sovah Health – Danville.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, VA. The family will receive friends at the home of his son, 929 Loomfixer Lake Road in Danville.

Jimmy was born March 24, 1936, in Christiansburg, VA, to the late Earl Phillips and Gracie Cox Phillips. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 through 1958, serving during the Korean War. Jimmy worked at and retired from the Danville Memorial Hospital as the Director of Radiology. He attended Immanuel Friends Church in Eden.

Jimmy is survived by his son, Jeff Phillips and wife, Elizabeth, of Danville, VA; three grandchildren, Corey D. Phillips, Brooke Phillips McBride, and Dillon G. Phillips; great-grandchildren, Kenleigh Phillips, Caroline Phillips, Elizabeth McBride, Jackson McBride, Cora Phillips, Caylee Phillips, Cooper Phillips, Dallas Phillips, and Willow Phillips.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Derothia Page Phillips; brothers, Billy Phillips and Tommy Jones; sisters, Vada Broyles and Jo Boles.
