Mr. Jimmy Lee Pulliam, Sr., 78, of 1509 Hurd St. in Eden passed away early Wednesday morning, December 25, 2013, at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Yanceyville, NC.
The funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 28, in the Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridgeview Cemetery.
Mr. Pulliam was born in Spray on August 7, 1935 to the late General Jack and Hattie Harris Pulliam. Mr. Pulliam was retired from Corning Glass Works in Danville, VA after 36 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla "Garnet" of the home; sons, Brian Pulliam of Greensboro and Jimmy Lee Pulliam, Jr. of Eden; step-son, Lenny Griffith of Memphis, TN; daughters, Judy Bledsoe of Danville, VA, Pam Pulliam, Sherri Plaster, Julie Thanos, all of Greensboro, Tanya Southard and Angie Jarrell both of Eden; brothers, James Pulliam of Winston-Salem and J.P. Pulliam of Eden; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rockingham County Humane Society, 205 Boone Road, Eden, NC 27288; or to Brenner's Children's Hospital, Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service(1 till 2 pm) in the Fair Funeral Home Chapel and at other times at his home.
