Jimmie "Jim" Lee Kallam

June 21, 1935 — May 30, 2019

Jimmie Lee Kallam, 83, of 1672 Snead Road in Stoneville, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019, at his home.  

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 2, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Floyd Baptist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Navy Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

A native of Rockingham County, Jimmie was born June 21, 1935 to the late Dary Thomas Kallam and Nellie King Kallam.  In 1952 he enlisted in the US Army and in 1955 transferred to the US Navy where he served until 1973. After his military service Jimmie worked for Stoneville Furniture Company and retired in 1996.  He was a member of Floyd Baptist Church as well as several military organizations including the Fleet Reserve Association Branch #217, the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans Branch #63.  

He is survived by his four daughters, Leesa K. Baker (Mike) of Stoneville, Bonya K. Tredway (Andy) of Stoneville, Tania K. Martin (Jimmy) of Eden and Wendy K. Roberts (Norris) of Stoneville;  son, Mark G. Kallam (Gwynne) of Stoneville;  six grandchildren, Jacob Baker, Jessica James (Mason), Skylar Roberts, Richard and Houston Kallam, and James Martin;  one great-granddaughter, Hadlee Grace James;  brother, Johnny J. Kallam of Stoneville;  two sisters, Eunice K. Price of Eden and Vera K. Smith of Stoneville;  and sister-in-law, Louise Rhodes of Stoneville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rhodes Kallam;  four brothers, Thomas Kallam, Dennis G. Kallam, Millard M. Kallam and Harold "Buck" Kallam.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 63, 525 NC Hwy 65 STE 210 , Reidsville, NC 27320 or to Floyd Baptist Church (Building Fund), 3652 Price Road, Eden, NC  27288.
