Jessie Mae Thornton Hill

Jessie Mae Thornton Hill, 93, formerly of Ridgeway, VA, and more recently of 457 Summerlea Drive in Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 10, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Ms. Hill was born May 22, 1916 in Danville, VA, daughter of the late Peter Moses and Nellie Margaret Taylor Thornton. She attended Ridgeway Church of Christ and was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Surviving is her daughter, Betty Jean Mostella and husband, Kenneth of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Dave Mostella of Eden, Pamela Glover of Bountville, TN, Carole Ertel of Greensboro, and Pat Gallagher of Fayetteville; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home.
