Jesse Floyd Sands

January 21, 1933 — October 20, 2017

Jesse Floyd Sands, age 84, of 801 E. Main Street, Stoneville, passed away on Friday October 20, 2017 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday at, 2pm with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8pm at Fair Funeral Home and the family will receive friends at other times at the home.

Mr. Sands was born January 21, 1933 to the late Powell Sands and Meadie Nelson Sands in Stokes County NC. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith and attended Shiloh and Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Sands previously worked for Unify as a fork lift driver, and he loved Nascar, car shows, sports, flea markets, and tinkering with his automobiles. Jesse will always be loved and cherished by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Sands of the home; brother, Lenzie Sands of Madison; step-brothers, Dean Adkins of Madison, Junior Adkins of Virginia; nephews, Gray Sands, Tim Sands, and Hal Sands; Niece, Paula Walker; special friends, Charles Roberts, Steve Hill, Mickey Mabe, Eugene Corum; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Sands, and several step-brothers and step-sisters.
