Jerry Randall Whitt, born on October 1, 1942, in Keystone, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Reidsville, North Carolina. He lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a profound love for his family.
A Funeral Service will be held at Fair Funeral Home on Friday, May 30th at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held one hour prior from 1:00-2:00PM. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be given by Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard
Throughout his career, Jerry held supervisory positions at notable organizations, including E.I. Dupont and the City of Stoneville Public Works. Later, he contributed his expertise to Pace Analytical, working in their water collection department. His professional journey reflected not only his commitment to excellence but also his ability to lead and inspire those around him.
Jerry was an honorable veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, where he earned an honorable discharge. His military service was a source of pride to him and he carried the values instilled during that time throughout his life.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jerry was deeply involved in his community as the treasurer for Genesis Community Church. He found joy in serving others and was a steady presence within the church community. Known for his kind spirit, Jerry also had a passion for working on cars and taking care of his yard, which were activities that brought him great satisfaction.
Family was at the heart of Jerry's life. He cherished spending quality time with his wife, Bonnie Reed Miller Whitt, and took immense joy in the company of his sons, Mark Miller of Eden and Brian Miller (Sondra) of Charlotte. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Whitley Faith Stockenauer, Logan Miller, Taelor Miller, Alexander S. Miller, Christopher Blake Miller, and Alexander X. Miller. Most treasured were his great-grandsons, Landon Allen and Aiden Allen, with whom he shared a special bond.
Jerry is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Tammy Whitt; son, Eddie Whitt; and brother, Larry Whitt. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing them.
In reminiscing about his life, one may remember Jerry not only for his accomplishments but also for the warmth and laughter he brought into the lives around him. He leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished and honored by his family and the community he loved so dearly.
