Jenifer Webster Avina

Jenifer Wynn Webster Avina, 77, of Eden, North Carolina passed away peacefully August 18, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital, with her daughter, Noelle, by her side.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 23rd at 10:00am in the El Bethel Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Glenn's Chapel Cemetery in Stoneville, NC.  A visitation will be at Fair Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 22nd from 5:00-7:00pm

 Jenifer was battling a devastating metastatic breast cancer diagnosis, which had spread to her bones, and suffered a massive stroke. Jenifer was born to Vera and James Webster on February 7, 1946.  She received her degree in anthropology at East Carolina University in 1977. Jenifer enjoyed getting to know people and their life stories, and had a passion for genealogy. She had a deep love and appreciation for art, which inspired her to pursue painting in watercolors.  She also was an author and wrote children’s books along with non-fiction literature. Jenifer enjoyed the beach and the healing power of the salty air and sand beneath your toes.  Being a dedicated member of El Bethel Presbyterian Church, Jennifer’s faith meant the world to her. Jenifer spent several years touching many lives by volunteering her time as a Guardian Ad Litem. She loved her children with her whole heart, and had just celebrated her wedding anniversary with her husband of 45 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vera and James Webster, and her sister, Joy Carr. She is survived by her husband, Michael Avina, and children Brandon (Tammy) Evans, April (Derek) Tapper, and Noelle Avina, step-sons Robert (Marla) and Josh (Anne) Avina, sister Diana Lynn Webster, grandsons Daniel (Tiffany) Evans, Sven, and Onni Tapper, and great grandson, Ethan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Rockingham County Free Clinic.
