Jeffrey Blake Gilley

May 15, 1957 — February 8, 2022

Jeffrey Blake Gilley, 64, of Eden, NC, passed February 8, 2022, at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Eden.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11am at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, Eden, NC. A visitation will be held 5-7pm, Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Fair Funeral Home in Eden, NC.

Jeff was born May 15, 1957, in Eden, NC. Jeff graduated from Morehead High School, class of 1975. He worked as a truck driver for Estes for over 20 years. He loved the beach and scuba diving. Jeff enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and Carolina Basketball. He also enjoyed operating Ham Radio and was a member of the Rockingham Gun Club.

Left to cherish his memory are the mother of his children; sons, Alan Gilley (Laura) of Apex, Steven “Jason” Asbill (Lisa) of Reidsville; grandson, Blake Lee Gilley; mother, Judy G Collins and stepfather Nathan Collins of Eden; brother, Jimmy Gilley (Suzy) of Eden; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, grandparents, James Otis Gilley and Vera May Overby Gilley.

The family would like to thank the staff of UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Eden, NC, for the excellent care provided.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to NAMI NC, National Alliance on Mental Illness North Carolina.
