Jeraline “Jean” Reeves Wood Weddle, 86 of Eden, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 at UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Dan View Cemetery in Eden. There will be no formal visitation.
Jean was born July 6, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late John Addison Wood and Nellie Lee Blair Wood. She was a member of Spray United Methodist Church, formerly of First United Methodist Church of Draper. She volunteered her time as a member of the United Methodist Women, the church librarian, housekeeper, and Administrative Board Member for the United Methodist Church of Draper. She also served on the Stewardship Committee and the Pastor Parrish Committee. Jean worked as a data processing clerk with Fieldcrest Cannon until her retirement. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending her time with them.
Surviving are her son, Michael Norman Weddle (Karon) of Eden; daughter, Dr. Diann Lynn Weddle of Belle Mead, NJ; grandchildren, Tyffany (Jonathan), Timothy (Renee), Stephen (Taylor), Shayna (Chris); great-grandchildren, Samuel Fugitt, Harvey Fugitt, Scout Weddle, Kaiser Weddle, Maddox Weddle; sister, Vernell Wood Powell of Danville, VA; nephews, Larry Hazelwood and Paul Hazelwood.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband Max O. Weddle, and brother-in-law, Dickee Powell, and great-grandson, Max Fugitt.
