Jean Roland Dickerson

Jean Roland Dickerson, 81, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 18, 2017. 

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church, in Eden, with burial to follow at Greenview Cemetery in Reidsville, NC with pastor Calvin Adams officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Eddie and Frances Roland (1391 Tellowee Rd., Eden, N.C)

Mrs. Dickerson was born, in Danville, V.A., on July 29, 1936 to the late Dewey Lee Roland and Allie Mae Hicks Roland. She retired at PillowTex Inc, and worked at Big Lots in Eden. Jean had a very kind heart and loved everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her contagious smile went out to everyone she met.  Mrs. Dickerson was also a member of Grace Baptist Church in Eden and loved her Lord with all her heart.

She is survived by her brother Eddie Roland and wife Frances of Eden; two sisters, Betty McDonald of Greensboro and Margaret Belton of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Clarence “Bud” Roland; and sisters, Hazel Purgason, and Edith Moore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church (14160 NC 87 North, Eden, NC 27288)
