Jasper "Fred - Jaybird" Spurgan Dyson

Jasper "Fred - Jaybird" Spurgan Dyson, 82, of 990 Harris Street in Eden, passed away early Thursday morning, February 26, 2015, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 28, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in El Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Mr. Dyson was born December 2, 1932 in Iredell County, NC to the late Richard and Laura Rupard Dyson. He was a retiree of Cone Mills.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol Hall Dyson of the home; daughters, Debra Ware and husband, Paris, and Nancy Gwynn and husband, Donald, both of Reidsville; sons, Jerry Dyson and wife, Brenda and James Dyson and wife, Bonnie, both of Reidsville; step-son, Ronald W. Belton, Jr. of the home; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Annie Smith of Eden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (11 am - 12 Noon) on Saturday at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
