Jason "J.R." Rae Wright, Jr.

Jason “J.R.” Rae Wright, Jr., 49, of Axton, VA, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Friday, January 6, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Gregory Family Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA. A visitation will be held from 4-6pm, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

Jason was born May 21, 1973, in Henry County, VA, to Russell Junior Wright and Barbara Gregory Wright. He worked as the maintenance supervisor at The Tile Shop in Eden for 13 years. He also owned and operated JR’s Archery in Eden. He completed Welder School. He also worked for the Patrick Henry Well Drilling.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Barbara Gregory Wright of Ridgeway; uncle, William Gregory, Jr. (Star); aunts, Tempie Rogers (James), Shirley Hatcher, Betty McGuire; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; three lab dogs, Tootsie, Amy, Jazzy.

Jason is preceded in death by his father, Russell Junior Wright; paternal grandparents, Russell Wright Sr. and Shirley Alverson Wright; maternal grandparents, William Thomas Gregory Sr. and Lila Sink Gregory.
