Jason Haley Carter, 88, a beloved member of the community, passed away on May 22, 2024 in Winston-Salem, NC.
Visitation will be held at Fair Funeral Home in Eden on May 28, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This will be followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden.
He was born on March 2, 1936, in Henry County, VA. Jason led a fulfilling life dedicated to hard work and family. In his professional career, Jason worked as a carpenter and general contractor for American Standard Home. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were admired by all who had the pleasure of working with him. Outside of work, Jason attended Fieldcrest Rd Church of God. His faith was an integral part of his life and provided him with strength and guidance.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Carter Smoak (Jesse), Shelia Carter Sexton (Billy), and Tammy Lynn Carter; his son, Ricky Carter (Amy); as well as seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
Jason was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Temple Barker Carter, parents, John Carter and Mamie Taylor Carter, and one brother, Harold Carter.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but will forever hold a cherished place in their hearts.
