Janie Hill Fields

Janie Hill Fields, 93, of 313 Vintage Road in Eden passed away Tuesday evening, February 19, 2019, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, February 25, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow in Overlook Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 299 Vintage Road in Eden

Mrs. Fields was born February 13, 1926 in Leaksville, NC, to the late Willie and Rachel Eggleston Hill.  She was a former member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed watching TV Land and most of all the Andy Griffith Show.

She is survived by her daughter, Toni Miller and husband, William, of Eden;  granddaughter, Rebecca Fields; sisters, Mary Edwards and Betty Frances Barker, both of Eden;  nephew, James Joyce of Eden;  other numerous nieces and nephews;  and feline companion, "Sassy".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Irvin Fields;  son, William Irvin Fields;  granddaughter, Patricia Fields;  brothers, Russell and Calvin Hill;  and sisters, Katherine Hill and Thelma Hill Pulliam.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC  27375.
